Medusa’s Net High Powered Laser Grid Detector

In the world of paranormal investigating, there is an ever-growing amount of equipment used to detect and communicate with ghosts. These various forms of technology have become increasingly advanced over the years, allowing even novice ghost hunters the opportunity to engage in hi-tech investigations.

One of the most popular devices used to detect paranormal phenomena is the laser grid. This device scans spaces for signs of spirits and can be used in conjunction with other investigative devices. Our own Medusa’s Net High Powered Ghost Hunting Laser Grid is an extremely accurate device that can scan a vast amount of space in order to identify potential spirit activity.

Read on to learn more about the laser grid and how you can use it in your own ghost hunts and potentially make contact with the other side.

How Do You Know If A Ghost Has Crossed Your Laser Grid?

Laser grids cast a large grid of green stars across a room or space. If someone puts their hand in front of it, the grid will distort and a shadow will appear.

In the same way that laser grids detect human activity, they can also pick up on spirit activity. If you’re watching the grid and see a shadow or other abnormality in the grid, it may be a sign that an entity is present.

This is compelling evidence that is both exciting and unsettling. It’s no wonder that laser grids have become a standard piece of equipment in paranormal investigating.

The History of Laser Grids In Paranormal Investigating

The laser grids used in paranormal investigating were originally developed by engineer Bill Chappell. Chappell had spent years working in robotics and semiconductors as well as teaching college courses.

His career took an unexpected turn in 2007 when he was asked to create a piece of equipment that would allow paranormal investigators to make contact with the spirit world. Luckily for the paranormal community, Chappell was up to the challenge.

Bill Chappell’s ghost equipment first appeared on the show Ghost Hunters during their first investigation of the Waverly Hills Sanitorium in 2007. After that, Chappell teamed up with Zak Bagans and Ghost Adventures to create an arsenal of paranormal tools.

Some of Chappell’s most famous inventions include the Ovilus, the Paranormal Puck, the Xcam, and of course, the laser grid. What’s especially novel about Chappell’s inventions is that they can be used individually or in tandem with one another.

How Do Laser Grids Work?

Laser grids cast a large, green grid across a space, which looks like thousands of symmetrical stars. Because ghosts are known to manipulate electronics, laser grids are yet another way to potentially engage a spirit. Shadows and distortions in the grid are possible signs of spirit tampering since the grid itself doesn’t change on its own.

Paranormal investigators also note a sort of streaking pattern on the grid that’s also thought to come from paranormal interference. This phenomenon is mostly seen when reviewing recorded footage of the laser grid after an investigation. However, abnormalities in the grid can still be witnessed by the naked eye.

How To Use A Laser Grid In Your Investigation

Laser grids are an easy piece of equipment to use, but how you use them is the most important part. Here are some basic steps you can take to make sure you get the best use out of your laser grid:

  • Choose an area (indoors or outdoors) where hauntings have been reported to set up your equipment.
  • Set up your laser grid on a tripod to ensure it remains still during the investigation. You can hold it in your hand if you’re on the move, but stationary provides the best results.
  • Set up a camera behind the laser so you can go back and review the footage after an investigation. Having a camera also allows you to investigate other areas rather than watching the grid for hours on end.
  • Pair the laser grid with other ghost-hunting equipment such as an EMF detector, REM Pod, or spirit box as a way to communicate with spirits.

You can also ask spirits to manipulate the grid by walking in front of it. Any distortions in your grid should be noted as possible signs of an entity being present.

Tips for Choosing A Laser Grid

Choosing a laser grid largely comes down to where you are in your journey as a paranormal investigator. Laser grids come in a variety of shapes and sizes, including handheld pen lasers and larger, hands-free laser grids.

Price is also a major factor. Laser grids start out at around $20 but can go all the way to about $350 for the most sophisticated equipment. While these high-end laser grids might appeal to the most seasoned ghost hunters, you really only need a basic laser grid to get started.

Whether you’ve been ghost hunting for years or are just starting out, US Ghost Adventures’ Medusa’s Net High Powered Ghost Hunting Laser Grid Detector offers an accessible price point of $26.99 while also being one of the most accurate pieces of ghost hunting equipment you’ll ever own.

The Medusa’s Net features a 10-hour battery life when fully charged, aviation-grade aluminum alloy casing, five adjustable grid pattern lenses, and casts a laser grid that can cover up to 1,600 square feet. Plus, it only weighs 8.8 ounces, making it the perfect ghost hunting tool to keep in your pocket.
