Hades’ Eye REM Pod

When it comes to ghost-hunting technology, there are a few paranormal devices that are in most paranormal investigators’ gear bags. There’s the tried and true EMF Detector, which measures fluctuations in electromagnetic energy.

There are paranormal music boxes, which are set off by any unexplained movement in an otherwise still room. Then there are REM pods, which offer a combination of the best features of other ghost-hunting equipment.

If you’re interested in diving into the world of ghost hunting for yourself, the Hades’ Eye REM Pod could be a great option for detecting even the slightest of spectral energy — ensuring you get the best results possible throughout your investigations.

How Do REM Pods Work?

A REM Pod creates its own electromagnetic field around the device. This type of energy is believed to be key in allowing spirits to reach out and interact with the living.

REM Pods are equipped with an antenna, which can detect the slightest changes in temperature or energy a full 360 degrees around the pod. If a shift is noticed, the device will alert you immediately with lights or sounds.

What is a REM Pod?

There are varying levels of REM Pods. While some simply offer the basics of an alarm going off when the magnetic field is breached, others can be much more sophisticated in their level of measurement. For example, some REM Pods include a baseline level. This means you can change the baseline depending on the environment you’re going into.

Some REM Pods will also measure the strength of the change in magnetic force. Say a more advanced REM Pod has four separate dots that can light up if a change is detected. If there is only a weak signal, maybe a few degrees in temperature change, for instance, the Pod may only have one dot light up.

However, if there’s a drastic drop or spike in temperature, all four dots may light up — signaling that the machine is detecting an intense entity. Similarly, some REM Pods will use color to transmit the intensity of the magnetic force it’s encountering. While yellow may mean a medium energy, red could signal a very strong change.

Who Invented the REM Pod?

The inventor of the REM Pod is Gary Galka,  and unfortunately, the device grew from a desperate desire to communicate with the other side after a tragic accident.

Galka’s daughter Melissa was just 17 in 2004 when she got into a car accident. She didn’t survive, and Galka, his wife, and his other two daughters were understandably beside themselves with grief after her death.

After Melissa’s funeral, the family started noticing strange things happening around their home. This didn’t just happen for a few days either — there were unexplainable phenomena happening for months after her death.

Convinced that his daughter was trying to make contact with her family, Galka began spending all his free time working on a way to actually communicate with the spirit in his home. Luckily, Galka already had experience in creating precise measurement systems.

Galka owned a company called DAS Distribution that developed sensors and other detection devices for a variety of different industries. While he didn’t work with ghost hunters at this point, his equipment did sense things that were invisible to the human eye, like changes in humidity. His technology had to be extremely precise, too, as his devices helped protect artifacts in museums that could disintegrate if the humidity or temperature was off by even half a degree.

So, Galka channeled all his knowledge into creating the REM Pod, a device that would signal when its magnetic field was altered. Galka then used the device to ask his late daughter yes or no questions, instructing her to light up the device if it was a “yes.”

After seeing incredible results, Galka began to spread the word about his new technology.

How the REM Pod Became Popular

After Galka began publicizing his new invention, he caught the attention of the producers of the popular show Ghost Adventures. The episode in the Galka home ended up having some of the strongest evidence of spectral activity of any of their episodes.

The show filmed the episode on what would have been Melissa’s birthday. Her parents baked a cake for her, spelling out “Melissa” in icing on the top. As they cut the cake, they began asking her questions. They used several tools to see if they could hear a response, including a REM Pod. Before long, they’d clearly made contact.

They moved into Melissa’s bedroom and continued to ask questions while the cameraman noted that he’d started feeling nauseous — the way he typically felt when a spirit was draining energy from him. When they asked Melissa if she would continue to speak to them through a different listening tool, you could clearly hear “Okay” as her response.

Melissa’s mom had said earlier that Melissa seemed to have made friends on the other side. In the bedroom, she asked if any of Melissa’s friends were with her. Then, a male voice was heard through the recording device saying, “What up.”

Due to these experiences, and several more made throughout the show, many Ghost Adventures fans claim that this is one of their favorite episodes. This helped cement the popularity of the REM Pod.

The Hades’ Eye REM Pod

While there are many REM Pods on the market, we designed our Hades’ Eye REM Pod to be one of the most accurate and most responsive pods out there.

First and foremost, our REM Pod has an ultra-fast proximity detection, signaling that an energy shift has occurred within 1/100th of a second of the change. With this quick response, you can trust that you won’t miss any paranormal activity while using your REM Pod.

The Hades’ Eye also creates a much larger electromagnetic field around its base: up to three times wider than similar REM Pods. We also developed a robust, reinforced antenna, so you can trust that your gear will deliver and perform after traveling around.

To ensure that our Hades’ Eye REM Pod handles even the most intense paranormal activity, we tested it in some of the most haunted houses in the entire United States, including the Lizzie Borden House and the Villisca Axe Murder House.
