Seattle Haunted History

The city of Seattle has seen highs and lows throughout its history, but some of the lows have left behind lingering souls and unsettling experiences for interested tourists.

The city has a history of boom and bust, with booms led by the lumber industry, the Klondike gold rush, the shipbuilding industry, and the Boeing boom. Now, it’s the heart of the software industry. 

But in between all of these highs, the city saw darkness. 

The Great Seattle Fire brought destruction to much of the city, destroying the entire central business district of the town in 1889. Soon after that, the city recovered and quickly became the largest city in the new state of Washington.

But the 1940s saw the Japanese-American internment camps. It experienced a bust economy due to the slowing military spending after the Vietnam War.

This tumultuous history has left many of the dead restless and ready to spook visitors.
