Welcome To Orange Ghosts

A market of antiquities, a deceptively quaint mansion, and a place of worship make up some of Orange’s most haunted locations. California may be a land of sunshine, movie stars, and sweeping valleys, but Orange grounds the fantasy with its tales of lost souls, tragic apparitions, and otherworldly curiosities.

The Power of Regret

A tourist-friendly shop today, offering a glimpse into Native American life, the Matoska Trading Company wasn’t always the neighborhood delight. Before advancements in science and funerary practices, the building belonged to a carpenter who also worked as the local undertaker. Orange Ghosts goes beyond the souvenirs and gallery of Native American art to unveil the shocking truth behind the trading company’s resident spirit.

Hear how a chance, tragic event one cold and rainy evening left one dead and another tormented by guilt. A countless number of dead were brought into the undertaker’s care, yet it’s the man who faced mortality daily who refuses to leave his quarters. Learn more about this tragic tale and more on an unforgettable ghost tour with Orange Ghosts.

The Mysterious Glutton of the Elliot Alumni House

A building steeped in nostalgia, the Chapman University Elliot Alumni House is no stranger to visitors from the past. Yet, even before the alumni turned out in waves, something unexplainable carried over from decade to decade, plaguing the building’s owners in a rather mischievous way.

Join Orange Ghosts to uncover reported run-ins with Orange County’s hungriest spirit. Laugh at the greed-driven haunt of the alumni house, which has been stealing pastries and desserts since the building’s earlier days as the Victorian Manor Tea House.

The alumni house has had many personalities. From a private residence to the den of remembrance it is today, Orange Ghosts reveals its timeline to unveil the truth behind the snack-grabbing haunt. Is it one of the Granger children, who lived with their parents and original owners, William and Ella? Or maybe it’s the wispy apparition of a woman once spotted by a Chapman alumni standing at the top of the stairs.

Why is Orange so Haunted?

An Afflicted Beauty

Viewed from its front, the Royer Mansion has the appearance of a common Craftsman home. It’s quaint and elegant, but far from earning the stately title of “mansion.” From a broader overview, though, its 6,000 square feet come clearly into view. For those looking close enough, so, too, does that ghostly figure that’s earned this building the title of the most haunted house in Orange County.

Empathize with the young girl whose life ended too soon, ripped away by a mysterious illness. Not even being the daughter of a doctor helped her overcome her affliction. And so the young beauty, a stunning vision that the whole town mourned over, remains anchored to the mansion. Her apparition freezes men on the spot, and she’s none too shy in the presence of the living.

The mansion has had many lives, from a medical office to the city’s Chamber of Commerce. Through each, poor Elizabeth remains a permanent fixture with no means of leaving this mortal coil. Is it a cure for the affliction that took her life she seeks, or merely the company of others to curb the loneliness of eternity? Find out with Orange Ghosts.

Orange’s Most Haunted

A shop of antiquities is bound to have a resident spirit. At Antique Station, though, it’s not a specter anchored to a family heirloom that darts between the aisles. Many believe it’s the residual of a young boy whose life was tragically and painfully lost in a freak accident. The faint aroma of gasoline or lingering smoke is believed to be a sign of the shadow of Antique Station.

A place of worship today, the Son of Light Christian Center once attracted stars and starlets looking to make their big break. The former Orange Theater was no stranger to drama, especially under the direction of a rather boisterous personality, Elliot. An effective director, Elliot was also quite beastly, earning the disdain of those working with him. Could his temper have been what led to his body having been found at the bottom of a staircase? Only his noisy specter knows.

Join Orange Ghosts on a spooky journey into the unknown, uncovering the secrets of the city’s most haunted locations.

5 REASONS TO BOOK YOUR ORANGE GHOSTS TOUR RIGHT NOW!

1) You Need an Escape from the Bustle of Hollywood

Parts of SoCal can be intimidating to travel to. Los Angeles is a thriving metropolis with crowded sidewalks and even worse streets. Orange is the perfect getaway from the encumbrances of the busy city, offering a quainter atmosphere with more accessible haunted locations.

2) You Want to Immerse Yourself in SoCal’s Hidden History

Everyone knows about Los Angeles and Hollywood, but there’s so much history tucked away in SoCal’s lesser-explored towns. Orange has many stories on offer, spanning as far back as the Natives who once inhabited the land. A ghost tour is a chronicling of a location’s history, as told through the eyes of those who’ve been present for every generation.

3) You’re Looking for the Best Way to Take Advantage of the Nice Weather

California’s weather is one of its biggest appeals. You could spend the day at the beach, trying to perfect that tan. Or you could stroll the eerie streets of Orange on a comfortable SoCal night, hearing tales of the otherworldly and the unexplained. Maybe it’s a matter of taste, but we know what we’d choose.

4) You Want Ghost Stories That Are a Little Outside the Norm

A dark, smokey ghost that plagues an antique store. A specter with an appetite for pastries. A theatrical director who haunts a church. Orange’s specters aren’t your typical “Civil War ghost in a former field hospital.” Their tales are often very unique, showcasing parts of the city’s eclectic and interesting past.

5) You’re a Chapman University Alumni

There are few things more interesting than partaking in a ghost tour that includes stories about the school you once attended. Even better, one that delves into nostalgia with a glimpse inside the alumni house. Find out what haunts await before visiting the very haunted house in your spare time.
