First constructed in 1855, 1313 Vine St. has a rich history. From a coffee house to a speakeasy to an indoor golf complex, 1313 Vine St. has worn many hats.
Its inclusion on our ghost tour is primarily due to what lies beneath—the two sub-basements of the lower level span 4,400 square feet with remnants of the brewery that once existed. Down there, you can feel the hair rise as you stand in the presence of all who once passed through.
As the home of all things antique since 1976, Wooden Nickel houses various light fixtures and ornaments that date back decades. It is hard not to feel the presence of the previous owners of these items when walking through the enormous store. Some of these items date back to the 1800s, not long after the founding of Cincinnati.
As the oldest brick house in Cincinnati, having stood for 217 years, the Betts House undeniably earns its place on our tour. Four generations of the Betts family have lived in the home throughout the centuries, once a 100-acre farmhouse.
