The Battlefield, the town, the panic and the horror, residents fleeing…possibly the turning point of the civil war. Almost no other battle in the history of the United States seemed to have gained more attention, brought more visitors to its hallowed grounds, or struck a chord so deep at the heart of America. Was it the almost incomprehensible loss of life? Perhaps it was the warfare, bloody battlefields, and unbelievable chess matched played by some of the greatest military minds in American History? What is still uncertain is how deep those blood-saoked fields and revered gravestones where Lincoln gave his historical Gettysburg address–how deep they cut to the heart and soul of America…and how they may have blurred the line between life and death for soldiers and generals, townsfolk and foreigners, friends and enemies, families and individuals…to the point where many believe they still haunt the bloodied grounds of battlefield and town alike. What is absolutely certain is that amidst the unexplained and unbelievable, Gettysburg has and always will remain on the list of America’s Most Haunted Cities.
