Aspen’s Haunted History

Aspen isn’t usually the first city that comes to mind when we think of haunted locations, but don’t be fooled, this town has got it all! Haunted cemeteries, houses, streets, you name it!

The city’s roots are traced to the winter of 1879, when a group of miners ignored pleas by Frederick Pitkin, Governor of Colorado, to return across the Continental Divide to avoid a Ute uprising. The Utes were fighting to maintain possession of their land and communities. Originally named Ute City, the small community was renamed Aspen in 1880. Barroom murders and accidental deaths reign supreme in the Roaring Fork Valley, and the spirts of Aspen are just a step away with US Ghost Adventures.

If you’d like to walk the haunted streets of Aspen and see the city in a truly unique way, book your tour with US Ghost Adventures today — the spirits of Aspen are waiting for you!
